Aston Gardens at Pelican Marsh

The experience has been extremely unsatisfactory. [name removed] moved into her Independent Living apartment on [date removed]. She moved out on [date removed]. A very short, unpleasant experience at that facility which is supposedly focused on creating a compassionate environment for seniors. Her lease was terminated with a 30-day notice left at her door which included a threat of eviction if she did not vacate in that time frame. This was extremely disturbing as we had just finished unpacking her last box and hanging her last piece of artwork from the very major move from Cambridge, MA. Now what? The stress on all of us was intolerable. We recognize that there had been several adjustments and challenges for [name removed] and her young puppy since moving into Aston Gardens. [name removed] complied with administration's concerns by spending thousands of dollars to put her puppy through intensive training as well as adhering to other requests. But before the training was complete, the termination letter arrived. There were no meetings, just a few "surprise" phone calls that were more threatening than helpful or supportive in resolving any issues. The behavior of Aston Gardens' executive director and assistant director which caused massive stress and anxiety for [name removed] was totally shocking and unacceptable. They never reached out to meet with her to work towards solving any problems. [name removed] felt totally unwelcomed and that they essentially wanted her to leave. Just as an aside, the food was barely tolerable and not nutritious at all. The activities, except for the exercise classes, failed to offer any real stimulation. Plus, the apartment, which hadn't been lived in for some time, had issues. For example, the dishwasher had to be replaced...and then the replacement did not work and had to be replaced. Then one evening, two days before [name removed] imposed relocation, we got stuck in her Building 6 elevator between the 1st and 2nd floor. [name removed] , myself and the puppy were finally rescued at 9pm by the local fire department. But not one person from Aston Gardens reached out the next day to apologize or check if we were okay! So, all of these factors contributed to additional disturbances, stress and dissatisfaction. I would NEVER recommend Aston Gardens of Pelican Marsh.

Great staff and lovely property. Definitely a consideration for my parents next home.

My husband and I have lived at Aston Gardens at Pelican Marsh for 6 and 1/2 years. We are still very happy here

I have lived at Aston Gardens for 7 years as of next month and am very happy here. The residents are nice and are down to earth, which I like.. The staff is very helpful annd we ante offered a large variety of activities and a nice selection of food.

For the most part everyone has been helpful. My dad told me recently that the food has really stepped up!
