TERRIBLE! They will treat your love ones like they are worthless.

Disturbingly bad care. The staff across multiple shifts has about 7-9 totally apathetic nurses and aids. Seriously. The littlest thing like requesting your loved-ones food be heated up, they seem angry about and would not even answer you, they would point and frown. They did everything from deliberately lose our grandmother's food, to passive aggressively unplugging her TV on her. Shame on this place. Update: The director claimed here in a response that he would reach out. Naturally, that never actually happened. I will come and update this if he does, but so far that was just a fake out for appearances.

I wish I could give it zero stars!!! What a dump! My mom went here for rehab, unfortunately. When she was released from the hospital, it was the only place that had an open bed. It is because all of the good places were taken. My mom's hospital roommate begged me not to let her go here but, unfortunately, we had no other options and the hospital was releasing her that day. It was as bad as the woman said it was. We had to hire a private night nurse because they would never answer her buzzer and come in. We told them we wanted her released and they told us she had to stay for 30 days or there would be an issue with her medicare. We were told that it was completely covered. They wouldn't even release her one day earlier. Against our many demands, they continued to give her oxycodone. She was completely out of it for a couple of days each time. My sister and I told them on several occasions to put in her chart "NO OXY!!!" After several attempts, they finally stopped. 6 months after her release, they sent her a bill for $2,000.00! I called and called and finally spoke to someone who said they would look into it and see if her other insurance would pay. I told them it was a HORRIBLE experience and we only stayed because they told us it was paid for by medicare and she wasn't able to be released. We were paying for a private night nurse this whole time. A few months later, she got another bill for the $2,000.00. I called many times and finally an interim business manager from Texas called me back. I explained what happened and her response was, "I'm sorry to hear that but we will keep sending bills until she pays or else it will go to collections and they will keep attempting to collect." What a disgusting place!!! Go anywhere else. It would have been better for us (and I told them this) to have her come home and hire nurses around the clock. She would have had a much faster recovery. DO NOT SUBJECT YOUR LOVED ONE TO THIS AWFUL ABUSE!!!!!

I continue to be appalled by the lack of care, attention, and dignity that Abbey Delray South rehab gives its patients. No matter who I ask for anything - a box of tissues, a handheld urinal, someone to help my father go to the bathroom - it is never their job. They say they will find a person to help. It could be an hour or more before there is any response to a request. The staff seem more interested in clustering around the nurses station to talk with each other, ignoring family members of patients who are trying to advocate for their loved ones. The absolute rock bottom came when my father buzzed to get a urinal, no one came, and he ended up using a cup off his lunch tray. Whatever happened to basic human dignity? Would these staff people want their fathers to be treated this way?? I tried to call to talk with someone, but it is impossible to reach anyone by phone - they don’t answer and their voicemail messages are full so you can’t even leave a message. I can’t wait to get my father moved to an assisted living facility, one that is not affiliated with Abbey Delray South.
